Aegean Region - Turkey
The Aegean Region of Turkey has some of the best preserved classical cities in the world. Important ruins include Ephesus, Pergamon and Troy. The beaches are surrounded by olive trees and coves.
The Aegean Region is situated in the West of Turkey and is bounded by the Aegean Sea to the west and Marmara Region to the north. There are eight provinces within the Aegean Region. These are, Afyonkarahisar, Aydin, Denizli, Izmir, Kütahya, Manisa, Mugla, and Usak.
The Aegean Region of Turkey has a mild climate which can become harsher in the high altitudes.
The Aegean Region is ideal for holidays, with plenty of history as well as beaches ideal for watersports and swimming.
