Tenerife is the largest and most populated island in the Canary Islands, so there will always be plenty to do.
Tenerife is also one of the most popular islands with tourists. Many of these flock to the popular Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife which is one of the biggest and most spectacular events of its kind in the world and is held every February.
Tenerife is the only island in the Canary Islands which has two airports and two ports. All the other islands have one.
The capital city of Tenerife is Santa Cruz de Tenerife, commonly known as Santa Cruz.
Tenerife is the home to the third highest volcanoe in the world, El Teide which is a World Heritage Site. Mount Teide is the also the highest point in Spain.
Tenerife is a beautiful island with rugged mountains which have been sculpted by volcanoes over the years.
Tenerife is known internationally as the "Island of Eternal Spring". Tenerife enjoys a warm climate year-round with an average of 20° - 22°C in the winter and 26° - 28°C in the summer and high sunshine totals. The average temperatures can fluctuate between 17-18°C and 24-25°C in the winter season.
