Cocos (Keeling) Islands

The Cocos (Keeling) Islands, sometimes known as Cocos Islands and Keeling Islands, is a territory of Australia situated in the Indian Ocean half way between Australia and Sri Lanka.

Cocos (Keeling) Islands were discovered by William Keeling in 1609 and remained uninhabited until the nineteenth century.

Cocos (Keeling) Islands are in the tropics and have two main seasons, the trade wind season from April / May to September / October and the calmer season from November to April.

Cocos (Keeling) Islands have beautiful white sandy beaches and are covered with palm trees. These islands make a wonderful "desert island" getaway.
