Turkey
Turkey is where the East meets West. It stretches across the Anotolian peninsula in Southwest Asia. Turkey borders eight countries, Bulgaria, Greece, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Iraq and Syria. Turkey has the Mediterranean Sea to the south, the Aegean Sea to the West and the Black Sea to the North.
The capital of Turkey is Ankara although the biggest city is Istanbul. Istanbul is Turkey's most populated city and its cultural and financial centre. It is situated on the Bosphorus Strait. Istanbul is the only city in the world which is situated on two continents. It extends on both the European and Asian sides of the Bosphorus.
Turkey is rich in history and is a superb holiday location. There is no shortage of excursions both by coach or sea. It has the remains of underwater cities, gorges, limestone formations, ancient monuments, underground cities, and strange limestone formations.
